Multiplication

Multiplication is fun and easy once you know how to do it. Here is how you do it.

Lets say you have 5 times 5. That means you would count by 5 5 times. Here is  another way you still have the same problem so you would draw 5 sets of dots and then you count them all and it should be 25 dots.

Double Digit Multiplication

How do you do double digit multiplication ? Is this what you are wondering ? Well guess what it's actually really easy once you know how to do it.

Example

535

x85

_____

?

Steps

1. Times 5 x 5, 5x 3, and 5x5 again. When you do those you will have the answer of 2,675.

2. Now do the 8. 8 x 5, 8 x 3, and 8x5. Now on the bottom it should be 4,285.

3. Now you add up the 2 numbers, 4,285 and 2,675. When you add them up the answer should be 6,960. draft

Single digit multiplying

So first here is an example.

                    85
                    x 3

                     ?

This is way easy. You just times 3 x 5 witch is 15 so you put down the 5 and carry the 1.

Next you times 3 x 8 + 1 witch equals 25.

And you should have 255 for the  answer .

Multiplying zeroes

First an example

                               85
                             x 30

 1.  This is way easy. Cross off zero and put as much zeroes there is in the problem as there is in the answer.

2. Times  3 x 5 which is 15 , Put down the 5 and carry the 1.

3. Times 8x3 + 1 which  is 25. Then your total should be 2550

Fraction Pieces

1 whole    1/2 One Half  1/3 One Third   1/4 One fourth    1/5 One Fith   1/6  One Sixth    1/7 One 7th

1/8 One Eighth     1/9 One Ninth  1/10 One Tenth    1/11 One Eleventh     1/12 One Twelfth

Adding and Subtracting Fractions

                                               Adding
                                                              Example

                                               1/5 + 2/5 = ?

    Steps

                 1. Denominator stays the same so 5 stays 5 .

                 2.  You add the numerator.
Same thing with subtracting and multiplying.
